Introducing Ezra Parrish Anderson

Born: November 21, 2011 at 9:19 am (3 weeks before his due date-planned c-section)

Weighed: 8 lbs 13 oz

Length: 19 inches (he was 21 inches 5 days later in the Dr. office…hmmmm)

He has squishy cheeks like our other kids and looks so much like a combination of all his siblings. He just looked so familiar when we saw him-we are so happy that he is part of our family.  We love you Ezra!

Henry, Emma and Charlie slept at Grandma and Grandpa Parrish’s house the night before.  It was so nice to have a little prep time that night.  We did some cleaning and packing and since we would be coming home Thanksgiving day I did some food prep. Here we are just before going in for surgery.  So happy!

We were excited to have a planned c-section instead of an emergency one like Henry’s and Charlie’s.  Emma’s was planned too, and was a really good experience so we were hoping for something similar.  It was great.  We listened to Jack Johnson, my spinal block worked (although I found out that medicine wears off quickly with me. I was a little sore by the end of the surgery) the best part though was that I was able to hear my little baby cry when he came out.  I got a little teary.  I even got to hold him while they were sewing me up.  What a great experience!IMG_1548 IMG_1550

Ezra was such a fighter when he came out.  The Dr. kept telling him to hold still because he couldn’t cut the cord!

IMG_1554

Yeah we are so happy that he is here and so healthy.  Also so glad we didn’t wait any longer-we probably would have had another 10 pound baby!

IMG_1552

Dr. Noorda-he delivered Emma as well.  He is a great Dr. and has always happened to be on call when I have had all my crazy health problems.  I asked him for a tummy tuck this time around and he told me he would do it if he could tie my tubes…I still have a fat tummy:)IMG_1113

Just for fun-here is Emma’s birth.  They look an awful lot alike!

It took them a lot longer to sew me up this time around.  It was really nice that I had this sweet baby to distract me.  I also got to hold him when I was in recovery.  Usually I am in there all alone and then they wheel me into the NICU to see my baby.  It was such a great experience.  We feel so blessed that everything went so well with this pregnancy.  Thanks for all your prayers.IMG_1541

Okay, this picture makes me laugh.  Check out my face-it was taking FOREVER for them to sew me up and it was starting to hurt and they had already taken my baby away to the nursery.  For any of you who have had c-sections this is the part when not all your body is inside of you and it is sooo heavy! Gross I know, but it surprises me every time.  I was ready to be done, so Jon thought he would snap a picture of my distress. I know-TMI

They bathed Ezra in my room and it was so awesome that I got to be there to watch.  Such a happy experience.  I did realize though that I had a lot less time to call people or do anything else since I actually had a baby in my room to take care of.  I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t have time to blog about his birth on the day he was born like I did with Charlie…

IMG_1564IMG_1566

Had to try on a few of his hats that I made while on bed rest.  He must have a small head, because they were all rather large and he is not a small baby!

My parents brought these little cuties to visit.  I know everyone always says it, but I couldn’t believe how BIG Charlie was when I saw him! Everyone’s reaction was so fun.  They were all really super excited to see him and hold him, but then Charlie cried almost the whole time after he got in trouble a little for plugging the babies nose, Henry wouldn’t smile, and Emma was a little frustrated that she couldn’t just carry the baby around!

It was so nice of my parents to bring them to visit and for keeping them the four days I was in the hospital.  Thank you!!!

Charlie was just so sad and wanted to be a baby and have a binky.  Henry did that too when Emma was born.  Henry loved holding Ezra and was so good at it!

IMG_7106 IMG_7107 IMG_7109

Henry just kept saying he was so cute he just wanted to SQUEEZE him.  My brother in law calls that the play dough effect.

My Mom thought that Ezra just looked so familiar, just like one of her babies.IMG_1577 IMG_7114

I love that he has jowls like our other kids. And check out that double Chin!  He also looks like he has dimples in both cheeks, but we haven’t caught them on camera yet.

Nothing sweeter than a Dad and his baby. Love you Jon, thanks for all your support during the long pregnancy on bed rest and during the birth.

IMG_7124

Ha, Ha I love this guy! He has a different hairline than the other kids.  I think he will have some major calics in the front and that chin and those cheecks, I just can’t kiss him enough!IMG_7115

I always look pretty drugged after, but I have to make sure everyone knows that I was there:)IMG_7137

My talented and sweet Sister in law Brittney made these adorable booties for him.  Thank you! I love his little chicken legs with his tags.  So cute.

I can't believe how huge he is yet how small he still looks!
He really does look a ton like Emma- and all your other kids!
We can't wait to squeeze those cheeks in just a few short weeks!
p.s. SO glad to see that the booties fit! When I hear his height and weight, I was nervous they wouldn't!

I have been waiting for this post. He is so cute. I love his cheeks. I am so happy for you, I can't believe dr. noorda didn't do the tummy tuck! I got laughed at when I asked for one, so I guess it's not the thing. Oh, I just want to squish those cheeks!

Congratulations! He is so adorable!
I am so glad that everything went so well! It is such a breath of fresh air when things go smoothly. I am glad that you had your c-section when you did, so he wasn't 10 lbs! I can't even imagine 8lbs. All my babies have been 6lbs and different oz's. I am glad you are back in the blogging world!
