Mom and Dad’s 40th Anniversary

We were lucky enough to have a lot of the family together to celebrate my Mom and Dad’s 40th wedding anniversary.  We got babysitters and all the adults went out to eat at Hamilton’s it was a lot of fun. 

During dinner I gave everyone a Baby Ruth candy bar because that is what my Dad handed out to everyone the night he and my Mom got pre-engaged.  They called it getting “pinned” but that just sounds bad.

Then while we were eating I handed out love notes that my Dad had written my Mom while they were dating. He was so embarrassed and people from other tables were leaning in to hear! They were so sweet and funny and helped us all get to know them a little better during that time in their life.  Then I read one from my Mom to my Dad and it was very sweet and made everyone cry-mission accomplished. Okay maybe not everyone cried, but a few did. 

All my siblings except my brother Mitch were there, so we just added him in.
