For some reason we talked to Henry all winter long about going fishing and it took until now-freezing cold- to finally go. We went up to Tony Grove and Henry finally caught his first fish. It was great!
Henry learned to cast by himself and he reeled this thing in by himself. So exciting!
We started out in a yucky mucky spot, but soon moved and had more success.
Emma even tried for a bit
It was so cold her eyes were watering
She sure was cute-even though you can only see part of her face
Sometimes I had to help Emma, but don’t tell because I didn’t have a license. Don’t worry we didn’t catch anything!
Charlie enjoyed himself too-he stayed cozy in the car seat.
Henry was in heaven
As it got darker these too got cold, so we went and sat in the Land Cruiser-We faced it towards the lake so we could see and we were toasty warm, enjoyed snacks and honked every time we saw Henry and Jon catch a fish. It was a great way to enjoy fishing with kids.
Jon took Henry again a few days later and they didn’t catch anything. As they sat there on the big rock Henry tried to comfort Jon “It’s okay we didn’t catch anything Dad, we still had fun!”
Such a cute little fisherman. Congrats on your first fish Henry!
