Logan Fireworks/Tagg’s birthday

My Nephew Tagg’s birthday happened to fall on the same day as the Logan fireworks, so we just met up at our usual spot and celebrated his birthday while we waited for the fireworks to start.  

We got a new wagon for Jamba  which came in really handy.  Jon had an event earlier in the day and had some left over smoothies, so we decided to take them to the party.  We had a lot of looks along the way.

How easy it was to load up our kids and get through the crowd with this sweet wagon.  A definite must every time!

Hyrum Parade

We went to the Hyrum parade the next day.  We didn’t get too much candy, but it was fun anyway.  

The kids tried some new moves.  Ha! They came up with that on their own.

Henry was being a little too daring going in the middle of the road for unclaimed candy.

4th of July!

For the 4th of July we headed to my brothers house in Plain City to have a BBQ and light some fireworks.  Emma and her cousin Sadie (6 weeks apart), Henry and Charlie getting caught stealing watermelon and making some pretty sweet faces.

Charlie is obsessed with putting his hands in his pockets.  I think he looks so old right here! Oh yeah and he also insisted on trying on Emma’s dress we borrowed for JaNae’s wedding.  (Thanks Rachel you are a life saver!)

JaNae and Wayne’s Wedding 

Jon’s sister JaNae got married to her perfect fit Wayne.  All the family was able to be together and in the Temple.  It was amazing! 

It was later in the day and they were married in the Draper Temple so we got to sleep and get ready at home.  So wonderful! Look at this little sweet heart all ready to go.

He even tried to put the moves on his little un-assuming cousin Afton.

He might have gotten some of his sly moves from this guy.

I think this was the first wedding my kids actually let me take pictures of them.  They all look so cute!

And a family picture.  What? Not perfect, but still nice to have.

This is huge! Emma wouldn’t even go near JaNae until this moment (too many people).  So sweet.

The reception.  (Funny side note: JaNae and I had very similar colors-orange, plum, and green, mine was fall colors hers more spring.  Then at the reception we both happened to have doors as our back drops.  Crazy.  We must have similar taste!)

Luckily during the reception we found a huge nursery in the basement of the church.  We stayed down there entertaining the kids for the majority of the night.

Birthday and flat tire

My nephew Lincoln was celebrating his 1st birthday so I decided to take the kids to Plain City to the party-we were going to go to the drive in movie after the cake.  Well Jon got the flu, so he stayed home.  As I was driving I hear this noise like a plane is flying right above us.  I roll down my window and slow down to realize that the noise changes, and then I feel the car change how it is driving.  I quickly pull over to find my tire completely flat.  Great! What is a pregnant lady to do? No sooner had I walked back around the car to call Jon than my parents pull up behind me! They happened to be as late as I was to the party and they drove past me and my Dad happened to notice me-he wasn’t positive, but thought he should check.  Amazing! I felt so blessed.  A few minutes later my sister who was also late came to our rescue.  Her husband happened to know how to get my tire down from under the car.  I was so grateful.  I LOVE family! It all worked out and we ended up buying four new tires a few days later-we should have bought them years ago, but had put it off!

To Idaho we go!

Jon’s brother Matt and his family were here visiting from Dubai so we decided to make a quick trip to Idaho to spend some time with them.  My kids loved it! We went to a fun splash park in Rexburg that also has a Merry-go round.  They were in heaven playing with their cousins.  Here is Saylor, Emma and Abigail just hanging out.

Charlie is our only child that isn’t afraid to get his face wet in a place like this.  He LOVED it.

Charlie wouldn’t go, but Henry and Emma thoroughly enjoyed the merry go round this year.   

The first night we got to Idaho Grandpa was telling Henry that he put his traps out to catch the raccoon who was living under their porch.  We were excited to see it in the morning.  When we looked however we found that it was not a raccoon but a SKUNK! The plan was to drop a tarp from the deck over top of the cage so that they could attach a rope and drag him into the field.  Good idea right?  Wrong, as soon as that skunk saw that tarp coming he started spraying! I was taking pictures from our bedroom which is so very close to the skunk.  Wow! The whole house stunk so bad I couldn’t believe it! After the skunk was dragged away we tried to air it out, but it took a while.  Lesson learned. 

Jon decided to try and get the old go-cart going so that Henry could drive it.  He did it and it was the best thing ever.  Henry drove around forever and would take all the little kiddos for rides.  Best babysitter we have ever had!

Henry was so proud of himself! He is such a cautious driver that sometimes I wanted to tell him to speed up a bit!

and more go-cart rides.  SO glad that we got to spend some time with family.

Had a fun play day with these sweet ladies.  We got all of our kiddos together for a day.  15 kids and counting…

24th of July 

North Logan Parade was as successful as always.  We always get so much candy at that parade!

We also got to celebrate my nephew’s birthday with a huge party! (Happy birthday Kenton, we thought of you while we were celebrating with our nephew)

We accidentally ripped a hole in the slide last year and it still hadn’t been repaired, so they rented this obstacle course instead.  My kids liked it way better.  They are afraid of the other huge slide that they usually get.  Since I am pregnant and couldn’t participate, I didn’t mind either!  

Charlie was even brave enough to participate! The only downer was that my sister Michelle-Gage’s Mom had the flu and was throwing up the whole night unable to enjoy any of it.  Poor girl.  She knows how to put on a good party though…

We are lucky that Grandpa Parrish shows up sometimes when we visit to take the kids for a four-wheeler ride.  They love it and we love to look around in peace!

7-24-11 Interior paint!

Our backyard is full of a powdery dust.  Almost like flour.  Our kids love to pick it up and throw it or gather it in their shirt or just roll around in it.  We have no rocks, just this dust everywhere.  This is how they come home looking most of the time after visiting the house these days.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of Henry and Emma as well because they were just as bad if not worse.  I don’t think our new house will stay clean for very long…
