Puttin the fun in ...Sunday?

Sorry this is a little late. Everything was on target to get it out on time, but my poor sister had a little accident and I had some more important things to attend to. FYI do not stand on a computer chair that swivels. It can move and you can fall and get hurt. Example: My sister fell and landed on the chair resulting in 4 broken ribs, a lacerated spleen and a punctured lung. Sad. She is out of the hospital now, but the 6-8 week recovery with a 3 month old is going to be a long one. Don't ever stand on a computer chair. Okay now onto some fun things to do with your kids.
Ooblic
This is the greatest stuff ever! I always made this back in my babysitting days, because I knew the parents would always have the supplies. This awesome stuff is both a liquid and a solid. It baffles the mind and is so fun to play with. I would suggest playing with it outside, so that the mess will be contained and the kid can have lots and lots of fun. Don't worry the mess is easily cleaned up it is after all just cornstarch and water.
It was a little hot outside, so we opted to play inside and just set Henry on the counter by the sink. It worked perfectly. Now I don't have an exact recipe, it just depends on how much you want to make. This time I did about 3 TBS of Cornstarch and about 1/4 Cup water. You just want it a consistency so that when you put a spoon in it becomes a solid, and when you pour it out of the bowl it is a liquid. You don't want it watery at all. If it feels that way just add more cornstarch.
This picture didn't really turn out the way that I wanted, but I am trying to show how it is a solid ball in my hand, and liquid in Henry's. It is pretty cool stuff!
Oh yuck dirty hands. Henry doesn't love to get dirty so it worked out having him next to the sink.
Just wash up! This stuff cleans up so easy! Once the water evaporates you just have a powder left. Or clean up before it is dried out is just as easy. That is the best part my friends.

Just a little bonus. I found Henry stuck like this in Emma's little chair. Later he did it again and had to some how walk down the stairs that way to get me to help him. Pretty funny kid.

I'm definitely going to have to try this stuff. It looks like it's fun and easy. Sorry about the picture with your eyes closed-I only had two and Henry was behind a table in the other one. Thank you for coming to buy lemonade from my kids, it was sweet of you.

I love this stuff! Did you see on Ellen when this science guy made a huge tub of it? He had an audience member run across it without falling in. Then he stood on it and sunk up to his knees. It was really cool!
