Puttin the Fun in Friday!

So I decided to help me be more consistant in my blogging I would start a little something I will call "puttin the fun in Friday." Basically I will do some sort of "fun" thing with my kids during the week and on Friday I will post about it's success and how to do it. Then anyone who is reading my blog can try it with their kids during the next week. I have a million ideas that I have been wanting to do with my kids, so this will help me finally do something about it. So here goes.

SLIME TIME!

This stuff is really fun to make if your kids like their hands to get dirty. The process of making it is just as much fun as playing with it. That is unless of course your child is Henry and hates to get his hands dirty! So he watched while I made and then played with it when it was ready. We made it a few days ago and he still loves playing with it.

These are the ingredients that you will need. You can get the Borax in the Laundry section of most grocery stores.

4 oz glue

1/2 cup cold water

food coloring

mix these three ingredients with hands (or spoon if you don't want to have any fun!)

Then add

1/2 cup warm water

2 tsp borax

It will start to clump together and you just work it with your hands adding more borax to the liquid part until all of it is one big slimy glob. One thing that I have found is that if you let it sit for a minute then you don't need to use as much borax. This last time that I did it I probably used about 4 tsp borax.

We had a ton of fun and have taken little bags of it to the neighbor kids. The recipe I had was double this, but this was a good amount to just have fun with I thought.
